Description

Davis County Commissioner John Crofts invites all residents to attend a public Town Hall Meeting.

This meeting will focus on:

• The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Sunshine Laws
• America’s tradition of a free press and why it matters
• Utah’s history with county-wide newspapers and Davis County’s own press legacy
• Past relationships between Davis County Commissioners and the media
• The current challenges of sustaining a free local newspaper
• Potential solutions for bringing back a community newspaper in Davis County

The final portion of the evening will be open for citizen questions and discussion, giving residents the opportunity to talk directly with Commissioner Crofts and meet other public officials.

Join us at the Historic Davis County Courthouse, second floor, on September 18th from 6–8 PM for an important conversation about transparency, local journalism, and the future of community engagement in Davis County.
