2023 House District 15 Special Convention

On September 18, 2023, Yemi Arunsi, Davis County Republican Party Chair, received notice of a midterm vacancy in Utah House District 15, following the Notice of Resignation of House Speaker Brad Wilson.

In accordance with Utah Code Ann. § 20A-1-508 (3)(b)(i), Midterm Vacancy, the filing period for filling this vacancy will open on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., and will close on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.

Any person interested in filing should email a Declaration of Candidacy to the Davis County Republican Party Chair, Yemi Arunsi (Chair@davisgop.org), and Davis County Republican Party Secretary, Liz Beidoun (Secretary@davisgop.org).

To file for this position, a candidate must be a registered Republican residing in the existing House District 15 boundaries for at least six (6) months.

If more than one candidate files, the DCRP will convene a Special Convention on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Shoreline Jr. High, with the purpose of selecting a name to submit to Governor Spencer J. Cox for this appointment. PLEASE NOTE: In the event a Special Convention is convened, only House District 15 County Delegates will attend and vote.
