I am a delegate representing LA-35 and have not received any communication on candidates. I can’t seem to find a listing of candidates on your website and would like to perform research before the convention next week. I am disappointed to find out that there have been multiple opportunities to meet candidates that I have missed. Do you have a candidate list so that I can perform research on my own? if so, please forward it and add my email mike.medell@gmail.com so I can receive further information. Thanks!

Getting the word out is difficult sometimes unfortunately. You should have received a flyer advertising the DCRW Meet the Candidate night at your precinct caucus meeting. There is a list of candidates to be considered at the county convention linked above. You can find similar information on the Davis County Clerk’s website as well. There will be an opportunity to meet the candidates from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the county convention.

About how long will the convention go? When can we expect to be done? I’m finding sources that say it begins at 8am and others saying it begins at 10am. Which is it?

Meeting the candidates and credentialing (registration) starts at 8:00 a.m. The convention will be called to order in the auditorium at 10:00 a.m. You should plan to arrive at least an hour before that.

As far as how long it will go, the short answer is it will be done when it is done. It could conclude as early as 2:00 p.m. or it could take a couple hours longer than that. It is basically an all day event in other words.

What will be the content of the Legislative and Senate breakout sessions?

    • Mark Butler says:

Delegates will hear from and vote for state House and or Senate candidates in districts where there is a intra-party contest and an election this year. If there is no contest delegates typically hear from the current officeholder. Some legislative districts may also elect additional state delegates to fill slots left unfilled at precinct caucuses.
